If there were a single exercise that defined calisthenics, it wouldn't be pull-ups or push-ups; it would be the Hollow Body. It's the sacred position of gymnasts and the secret so your tricks don't look like jelly on the bar. Without the ability to generate internal tension from hands to toes, your strength will dissipate like smoke. In Reppy, the Hollow Body is your fundamental Stability stat.
The magic of the Hollow Body lies in abdominal compression. By pressing your lower back against the floor and slightly lifting your shoulders and legs, you create a 'C' or 'banana' shape that is mechanically indestructible. This tension is what will allow you, months later, to hold a Back Lever or a Front Lever without your body folding in half. It's the tutorial you must repeat every day until tension is your second nature.
🪜 Scaling the Tension:
- Tuck Hollow Hold: Knees to chest and hands on the floor. Make sure not even a sheet of paper can pass under your lower back.
- Level 50 Hollow: Extend one leg. Then the other. Keep your arms tight against your body.
- Full Hollow Body: Arms and legs extended. Hold for at least 60 seconds before thinking about unlocking Advanced Boss challenges.
